Rose, Jack, Cal and Ruth partake in Family Therapy and Erik is their counsellor who at first views all four of his clients as somewhat 'off the wall'.

Dialogue is a plenty with interjections of sarcasm, wit and the occasional outburst of frustration and horror from Erik. Lots of witty banter is tossed about. This helped to make it much easier to read, and it gelled really well given the known personalities.

Although the end was rather predictable, i found it quite enjoyable, and could not help but chuckle at Eriks predicament.

ROMEO & JULIET
Story time with Romeo & Juliet

Initially i thought this was an interesting concept for a story as the characters are all talking animals. Namely Raccoons.

Upon reading the second paragraph, i almost felt as though i were reading a childs version of the book, with images of little furry animals sporting coloured tights with lace and frills peeking from beneath collars and cuffs. 

PRIDE AND PREJUDICE

Pride & Prejudice in space

I was intrigued to see how P&P would be set against the aesthetics of outer space. I felt a little cheated that Lizzie and Mr Darcy were the only two characters from the book. You get a sense of Tomb Raider nostalgia with images of Lizzie dressed in futuristic garb. I had difficulty associating the two time periods together, and i am sure a large portion of Jane Austen readers would agree that Mr Darcy is the epitome of classy sophistication whose name alone seems regal. 

PHANTOM OF THE OPERA
The tragic death of FOPs Hero

This short piece not so subtly paints the FOP not as a courageous hero, but that of a mere simpering male with over the top emotional breakouts. The twist is the title of the fanfic. You would assume the story is of the original FOP (Phantom of the Opera), until you realise a little into the story that she refers to him as Raulkins. The scene is set in what appears to be the home of Christine and the FOP, with the later of the two reading his favourite book (title still unknown to Christine). Christine starts to question the reasons behind Raouls state of mounting distress while reading the book. Easy enough to follow, and the reference to Harry Potter characters is a delightful end as the cause of his distress is revealed.

THE BOY IN THE STRIPED PYJAMAS

Can't Understand

The story takes place after the death of the boys in the gas chambers, and is told from the pov of Brunos parents Elsa and Ralph. Despite the obvious tragedy, the father still upholds his strong belief that the Aryan are of supreme beings over all other races, and still blames the Jews for the death of his son.

The authors intent was to draw attention to the role of the mother, which is explained in the brief summary. Without first reading the summary beforehand one may tend to get lost in the narrative.

FINDING NEVERLAND
Until the Light Shines through the Rain

A beautifully written poem Sylvia wrote for her boys near the end of the movie. The author had intended to write the story in tune with the song "If i need you" by Emmy Lou Harris. I cannot comment as i haven't heard the song but, it certainly was a pleasing way to write this piece.

This collection of fanfics caught my attention as all 10  stories are no longer than 7 lines.

They all have the same theme, and all the stories touch base on various genres i.e horror, thriller, humour, even romance.

Very well thought of fanfic based on songs from the authors ipod shuffle.

STAND BY ME
Fallen

This story takes place just after the death of Chris. He ponders about his previous life, his friends, his family, the pain and loneliness he felt as a child. 

When you read further, you see that Chris is looking back to who he was before as a person, and where he is going now as a man. There is almost a hint that he is being reborn into another soul, and that passing away was ultimately his saviour.

THE OUTSIDERS 

Sunsets keeping me gold

This is one of my all time favourite movies/book. The title for this wonderfully written short piece stems from  a song from the soundtrack called Stay Gold. It is written from Ponys pov, and set after the death of Johnny.

Pony does alot of self reflecting, and where he is with his life right now. 

THE BREAKFAST CLUB
 I hate school
If you are at all familiar with JohnHughs and his movies from the 80s, you should be able to identify the personality of this charater only known as 'Miss Crane', is almost like that of John Bender. The story is told from her pov and surprisingly the narrative is well written you could almost be fooled into thinking it were the thoughts of John.
A really enjoyable read if you are a fan of John Hughs and John Bender.

LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS
 "FAR FROM SKIDROW!!"

12 years down Seymour and Audrey own a Pizza Parlor away from downtown Skidrow. They also have a daughter named Angela who happens to try and help a black girl called Claera Elliot who was a hit and run victim right outside their pizza parlor. Audrey (her mother) takes sudden interest in this girl once she hears her name. In this piece the writer reveals how un-planned accidents can bring up your past and the people that were in it. Turns out the girl who was hit was one of Audrey's friends daughter from Skidrow. I found it to be a very good twist considering it was unexpected and at the beginning the fanfic was based on the daughter not her mother and her past.




EVER AFTER
"GETTING TO EVER AFTER!"

In the movie Danielle and the Prince Henry have married once he attempts to rescue her and immediately tell the King and Queen but in this fanfiction it reveals what goes on when they are still pondering what to do and how the only way they can be close to eachother is to have Danielle working in the Castle as a Servant. The tale between two bestfriends and Prince Henry unravels when Danielle believes Her prince charming loves her and would do anything for her, but her friend Abigail's tale of her experience shows something different about the Prince of France. I like how the author exposes the fact that Danielle and Prince Henry may be head over heels in love with each other, their love is tested when facts from Prince Henry's past has a big effect on their relationship and trust with one another.

DRAFT

South Park.

This is a animated series about four boys, Kenny, Cartman, Stan and Kyle whom live in a small town called South Park. The various experiences they go through growing up, with Kenny being poor while Cartman being an overweight boy, whom is in denial about his weight and is very opinionated. All of which are best friends, in this particular fan fiction it discusses about in Cartman's point of view how all of them have grown up, due to the reference about alcohol unlike the actual series where they were children. Also even though there are glimpses of both Cartman's gay tendencies as well as Kenny's nymphomaniac behaviour, in this piece of writing it expands on both of them. Which the writer seemed to have managed to do whilst keeping both original personalities intact. A very well written fan fiction in my opinion.



Narnia
This is a story about how 4 children are transported through time and space into a magical world which one would barely be able to dream of. The place is Narnia where they go on a journey to save this world by defeating an evil witch, with the assistance of numerous inhabitants along with a wise old lion. In the fan fiction it was nice to see a different side to Peter as well as the emotions each ranging from Lucy, Analise(being a new character made by the writer) and Peter giving each character's point of view of what happened and how they reached this magical place. In the writing they managed to keep in tact with the original story whilst introducing a new character and it was quite interesting to see the introduction of some one knew along with a background on how the new girl actually meets the canon characters. I think the writer managed to pull it off, keeping listeners keenly awaiting further chapters.





Batman.

This comic is based on a very rich boy named Bruce Banner whom as a child had his mother and father suddenly murdered right in front of him. Instead of wallowing in self pity he decided as he grew up to dedicate his life to fighting crime, along with his partner, his always faithful butler, Alfred. Learning martial arts as well as building different tools to fight super villains. In this particular fan fictions at the very first chapter, batman being a masked superhero has his identity exposed in front of every one and decides to retire. But his enemies were not too happy about his sudden departure and later on tried their best to bring him back by doing what they did best, creating turmoil. This story shows a lot of different point of views, but the main one would have to be Batman's. Although most of the original plot was lost as well as the introduction of a new character, it was quite interesting on the scenario which this particular writer introduced, especially how he made the first chapter seem like a one shot story.


Underworld.

This movie revolves around one particular made vampire named Selina, whom is on the front lines in a raging war between lycans and vampires. She finds out about how everything she was told by the vampire king and believed in turns out to be all lies. Her allies, the vampires becoming her enemies while she becomes a vigilante on the run with a human whom has been bitten and is slowly turning into a lycan. In this particular fan fiction, it describes a scene in which quite an ancient vampire whom comes to meet the rest of the vampires at their hide out is ambushed, whilst this piece of writing strays from its cannon, it's description of the whole incident was in depth and I enjoyed how the writer picked up on an idea which seemed so very basic but at the same time which few could pick up on. Overall this story was very well thought out and planned.










Pirates of the Caribbean.
This is the final sequel to a movie about pirates, the main two characters whom are planning to get married, one of which is the daughter of a governor, while the other the son of a pirate whom learns of this in the first movie. Along with them travels a famous pirate, quite renowned for leaving people in trouble while fleeing with his own life. On this sequel the heroine has to make a choice whether to live as a pirate with Captain Jack Sparrow, going on endless adventures or be with the man she loves, living a more quiet life. On this particular fan fiction the writer uses first point of view, describing how she was pulled into this movie and the experiences she had. It was an interesting read, since you can not only see the characters through the writer's writing but also you can feel the various emotions she had.

















Lord of the Rings.

This is both a trilogy of movies as well as novels, which revolve around a group of travellers, each of them representing their own specifies. Ranging from an elf, dwarf, magician, humans and finally hobbits. All of them forging alliances in order to dispel the threat towards them by an evil power which had been dormant for centuries. In this fan fiction the writer has wrote from the first person perspective, giving a detailed history about how her character fits into the fray of Lord of the Rings.














Harry Potter.
This is a novel based upon a normal boy, whom has been mistreated by his guardians, his uncle and aunt. Only believing what he was told and doing as he was told as well. When in reality he is quite a famous magician, to learn that his parents had sacrificed themselves to save his life from an evil powerful magician. His guardians are forced by the magicians, especially a giant man sent by them to collect him on his birthday, to be sent to a school of wizardry. After which his whole life transforms, this book is about the different things which he encounters, even that same deadly wizard whom tried to kill him when he was just a baby. In the fan fiction though the writer continues from the end of the Harry Potter series, adding a twist in the plot, which forces two enemies families ever since school term to unite, all due to a debt. It made for a good read, with twists and turns around every corner.









The Matrix

This is a movie where by an ordinary man, whom as a part time job hacks through different government website to obtain certain material. While his real job is at a office, behind a computer as a data entry worker living a very dull life. His whole life is transformed when he get

s an email with a set of instructions these lead from one event to the next as he is exposed to another alternative reality only to find that machines are controlling humans rather than the other way around. In this particular story, there is a what if sequence used by the writer, also related back to one of the three movies of Matrix, where the girl is waiting and hoping for Neo, the chosen one on this to rescue her while at the mercy of the enemy, Agent Smith.

Troy.

A movie about an ongoing war in Europe headed by Agamemnon whom controls the largest army in the whole of Europe. And with each country he conquerors, he grows stronger and his army larger. Although much of the battles which he had won were not through the clash of two whole armies, instead between the strongest two soldiers. And he just happened to have the strongest warrior of them all named Achilles, finally this army has set their sights on the city which is known to be impenetrable, the city called Troy, the whole movie revolving around this siege. In this fan fiction, involves part of the movie, although it does not follow the story of the movie another what if scenario. With one of the main character's dying in labor after giving birth to a baby girl and her cousin, Paris finding out that the father just happens to be the one whom killed his brother and caused the downfall of their castle, Achilles.

300
This is a movie based on a country called Sparta, where warriors are picked from birth whilst the rest is abandoned and amongst them only the strongest and most fearless is chosen as the king. As the name of the movie states this is about the king and 300 of his men going up to face an army of thousands, whom are headed by an evil warlord named Xerxes. The war which goes on, victories and defeats. It is not for the faint hearted as it’s quite bloody. This piece of writing is written in third person giving an alternative ending to the movie, although the story has yet to be finished, I can already see this developing into a well thoughtout fan fiction.
